Darren Smith plays Over 50s cricket for the Port Jackson Cricket Club and has represented NSW and Australia Over 50s cricket teams.
In 2017 at the NSW Over 50s state championships Darren won the region player of the championships and was selected in the NSW Over 50s team shortly after.
He was a member of Australian Over 50s 2018 World Cup win in Sydney in 2018 and was also in the 2020 Australian Over 50s World Cup squad to play in South Africa where unfortunately the World Cup was cut short due to Covid.

The nursery is a crucial piece of sporting infrastructure built next to the playing surface to allow for the easy creation, preparation and installation of drop-in cricket pitches in and out of TIO Stadium.
The Territory Labour Government has invested $280,000 in the project

The Queensland Cricket Foundation is backing a campaign to have all KFC Queensland Premier Cricket club grounds outfitted with an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) unit for the 2024-25 season.
The Foundation is aiming to raise $15,000 as part of an end of financial year fundraising campaign to provide the final five AED units to ensure 100 percent of Premier club venues are covered by the life-saving equipment.
That will mean all fields used during the summer by Premier clubs will always have a unit accessible, whether during playing, training or if a member of the public requires urgent medical attention.

And while Randwick Petersham has been operating for only 23 seasons following a merger between Randwick and Petersham-Marrickville in 2001, the club has chalked up some impressive 1st Grade partnerships. One of the great natural talents of his generations, Gary Gilmour was a clean striker of the ball, lively swing bowler and brilliant fieldsman.
The fact that he was a left hander from Newcastle in New South Wales invited comparisons with Alan Davidson. At his peak, he was a superb cricketer, and his relatively short career was littered with memorable performances: 122 against South Australia on his first class debut in 1971-72; 52 and 4-75 on his test debut against New Zealand in 1973-74; a mesmerising spell of 6-14 against England in the 1975 World Cup semi-final and five wickets against the West Indies at Adelaide in 1975-76; and a brutal century against new Zealand in Christchurch in 1977.

Sea Eagles Sign South African Bowling All-Rounder
Thando Ntini is an exciting prospect and son of Proteas legend Makhaya Ntini. 💯
Like his father, Thando is an opening bowler who has enjoyed plenty of success during his career to date. The 23-year-old seamer has represented South Africa at the ICC Under-19 World Cup in January 2018; and was picked up by the South Africa Emerging Players in 2019.
He has starred at both provincial and Franchise level for Western Province, Cape Cobras, Titans, and most recently KwaZulu-Natal Coastal, as well as the Dolphins. In all the young quick has played 21 First-Class matches, picking up 44 wickets at an average of 33.
Thando has picked up 26 List A wickets, including best bowling figures of 4-36 on his Momentum One Day Cup debut for the Cobras back in February 2020. In T20 Cricket, Ntini has 24 wickets to date from his 25 matches.
Last summer, Ntini travelled to the UK ahead of the 2023 season. The talented bowler was instrumental in Lordswood Cricket Club's Kent Premier League victory scoring 416 runs at an average of 32, alongside his 28 wickets at an impressive 22.25.
Lordswood went on to re-sign their South African star for the ongoing UK 2024 season. At the conclusion of the English Summer, Thando will travel to Australia, joining up with Brisbane Grade side, Wynnum Manly District Cricket Club.
The 'Sea Eagles' will be looking forward to welcoming the South African seamer into their ranks for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.

Cricket Australia has announced the format for a new national women's T20 competition, which will feature teams aligned with the eight Big Bash clubs along with the ACT.
The new nine-team competition is scheduled to take place immediately before the Weber WBBL season with each team playing four matches before the top four play off in the semi-finals and final.

The club is delighted to announce our Captain/Coaches for season 2024/25
Josh Hartill will again lead our 1st Grade squad following a stellar 2023/24 season where he scored nearly 1000 runs, was runner-up in the Emerson Rodwell Medal, named as Captain in the CTPL team of the year as well as being a regular in the Tasmanian Second XI team.
Simon Palmer takes the reins of 2nd Grade after picking up the role mid-season last season. Simon brings a wealth of experience having been a top performer mainly in our 2nd Grade team over the last 15 years where he is on the verge of becoming our leading 2nd Grade run-scorer in with a strong season this year.
Damien West will be returning to the playing ranks and mentoring our 3rd Grade squad after leading our Junior Program the past six years. Damien has led 2nd Grade for several seasons in the past and will be hoping to continue to raise the bar set by Steve Sillifant and Jack Young in recent years who have done a fantastic job to lead the 3’s to two flags in the past three seasons.
