My last game of grade cricket! Winning the first grade title with Easts in 2003/04. An amazing game to win after being 5-15 on the first morning.

The NSW Breakers have named a 13-player squad for their T20 clash against a touring West Indies team at Cricket Central this Thursday, September 28.

Sammy-Jo Johnson is set to captain the side for the short-format fixture, whilst emerging talents Isabella Malgioglio and Ebony Hoskin have earned their way into the 13.  

Pace bowling sensation Stella Campbell is a chance of making her highly anticipated return to the NSW bowling attack after overcoming an injury picked up during last year’s WNCL season. Campbell’s last appearance in Breakers blue was on December 20, 2022.

St George District Cricket Club Poidevin Gray Golden Run 2003 to 2008 – Premiership 4

An interesting factor in this particular campaign was a change in captaincy after 4 rounds from Phil Wells to Chris MacDougal. This was to allow Phil to focus on his game as one the competitions leading all-rounders.

The team won 6 out of their 7 competition games before defeating Penrith in the Semi Final.

It’s quite remarkable… a few weeks back I was presenting at the Cricket South Africa Level 3. Wow! 5 ex-South African cricketers in the room.

I was presenting on Coaching Performance.

During the presentation, we got to talking about the experience cricketers have when they are playing at their best. I got to share the fairly consistent pattern I became aware of as I have spoken with my elite clients on the times they play and perform at their best. What was remarkable was that I got 5 head nods in the process.

*The explanation below has… for different athletes, different variations in intensity, and at times has a couple of extra steps… however, these few steps are fairly consistent.

Australian test team v India in the 4th Test of the series at the SCG in January 1978

Australia won the toss and elected to bat and were bowled out for 131.

India replied and declared 8 for 396 before bowling Australia out for 263 in their 2nd innings and winning the test by an innings and 2 runs.

Trent Copeland for the 2nd consecutive season was the captain and had also in this time morphed into one of the team’s leading pace bowlers (but that’s another story entirely). A very dominant series for the team going through undefeated. They convincingly knocked over Sydney University in the Semi Final by 9 wickets.

Greg Livingstone is UNSW first grade cap number 41 and he made his first grade debut in 1976/77 and over the next 18 years he accumulated 7,628 runs averaging 30.88. He scored 6 centuries and 42 half centuries and his highest score was 201 not out.

In all grades Greg scored 8,952 runs for UNSW at 32.67 including 12 centuries and 51 half centuries

Greg was a member of two UNSW first grade winning premierships and is a very proud Life Member of the club and continues to make a significant contribution.

The NSW Men’s Cricket Team will open their domestic season with a pair of matches in Melbourne this week, with rising 19-year-old all-rounder Joel Davies a chance to make his debut for the Blues.

The Blues squad, under the guidance of master coach Greg Shipperd and experienced skipper Moises Henriques, kick off their summer in the 50-over Marsh One-Day Cup competition with a clash against Tasmania on Wednesday September 27, before backing up two days later against Victoria.

Both matches will be played at Junction Oval, beginning at 10.05am (Sydney time) and broadcast live on cricket.com.au, Foxtel and Kayo.
