I've been fortunate enough to call Nicko a close mate since we first travelled to the UK on the Antipodean's tour of '91 as 16-year-olds. Both a teammate in the early days at Gordon and watching his development, to then becoming fierce competitors on the first class cricket scene, you won't find a better bloke who deserves such a standing alongside the greats at Gordon DCC. As a player, in particular his fast bowling was world class, and you always knew you were in the fight of your life to get through his tough spells.

Mr W E Forsyth, the Hon Secretary of the Petersham C.C., while playing with the Veteran team against Cintra C.C. at Norwood Park on Saturday, bowled the whole ten wickets in the course of 55 balls at a cost of only 15 runs. While not a unique performance, it is a very remarkable one in the fact of the wicket being hit in each instance. In one sense, however, there is no doubt that the feat is unique as Mr Forsyth has only one hand, his right arm ending above the wrist.

Nick Taranto played his junior cricket for Tyabb Cricket Club in the Mornington Peninsula Cricket Association.

Nick graduated into the seniors as an early teenager and is the club first grade player number 479. As a teenager he moved to Frankston Peninsula to play Victoria Premier Cricket.

After a couple of seasons in Premier Cricket Nick returned to Tyabb CC where he has scored 9 centuries to date. Nick returned to Frankston Peninsula in Premier Cricket and on the 29 January 2022 he made his first grade premier cricket debut scoring 11 against Essendon.

During the West Indies tour of Australia in 1975-76, arrangements were made for Andy Roberts to return the following season to play Sheffield Shield for NSW and 1st Grade for Sutherland. Andy made his 1st Grade debut on 9 October 1976 against Manly Warringah at Caringbah Oval. Unfortunately rain intervened and, after a late start, only 13 minutes of play was possible before play was washed out, with Sutherland bowling only two overs. Andy bowled a maiden! There was no play on day two due to rain.

Ian Davis is a proud former Balmain Cricket Club player who enjoyed his time playing for the Tigers during the 1980s.

He made his first grade debut in Sydney Grade Cricket with Northern District at the age of 16 and played grade cricket for Northern District, Gordon, Bankstown, Penrith, Balmain and Campbelltown. Davis captained Penrith to their first grade premiership in 1982-83

Davis played 15 Test matches scoring 692 runs at an average of 26.61 with one century and 4 half centuries.

Two Randy Petes faced off in the match with Adam Semple representing NSW and Burt Cockley WA and Randy Petes Legend Bobby Barter as Room Attendant extraordinaire.

For Sempie the 2012-13 season was marked by his appointment as First Grade skipper and in his first match at the helm had a convincing win in the State Challenge Shield, with an inexperienced side after losing four first-class players from the previous season, over the country champions Illawarra at Kensington Oval. Adam went on to lead his young charges to wins in the first three matches bolstered by his own selection in the NSW Second XI team where he hit scores of 103* (on debut v WA), 73* and 56*. Burt had just made the shift to WA to continue his First Class career with the Warriors.

The creation of a St George DCC Hall of Fame at the Norm O’Neill Indoor Facility has been, as expected, an unbridled success, with inductees honoured and often emotional at their inclusion. It also reinforces St George’s status as a leading producer of outstanding Premier, State and International cricketers. Additionally, if is a constant reminder to young players training at the Norm O’Neill Centre of the skill and talent of their local predecessors, hopefully instilling in them an increased desire to train hard and succeed.

I race over to our scorer and immediately inquire "Who is this kid?". The nearby Penrith scorer obliges and says "That's Patrick Cummins. He's quick isn't he". That was a statement of the obvious.

The second ball thunders into Lee Kirk's pad. Lee had barely time to raise his bat and must have been perilously close to be given out. But he survives. Much to the annoyance of the fielding side from whom he cops a bit of a spray. But Patrick doesn't say a word of dissent. Just goes about his business. Bowling fast.

Greg Hayne is Sydney Cricket First Grade player number 426 and a proud member of the Tigers hall of Fame.

Greg was a prolific run scorer in Sydney Grade Cricket and is currently the 3rd highest run scorer in the competitions history.

He scored 12,354 runs at an average of 36.87 and hit 26 centuries and 65 half centuries. His highest score was 161. He scored 10,285 runs for the Tigers and 2,069 runs for Gordon when he played with the Stags from 1991 to 1994

Ben Schutz made his first-grade debut in NSW Premier Cricket in 1995 and in 18 years to 2013 he played for Fairfield Liverpool, Balmain, Parramatta, Blacktown and Eastern Suburbs.

Ben was a very proud member of the Balmain Cricket Club 1998-99 first grade premiership winning team and scored 7,827 first grade runs at an average of 27.55 and hit 6 centuries and 45 half centuries.
