Michael Blatherwick is the Managing Director of B3 Cricket.

Who are the two players you admired most in terms of skills and competitive spirit in the competitions you played?

Again, numerous but special mention to Neil Fenwick and Andre Adams. Fenner’s was a brilliant all rounder and should have played professional cricket in my opinion. Hard and fair summed him up.

Andre came to be our overseas pro at Kimberley in 2000 and 2001. He was a superb allrounder and played the game with a brilliant mentality. Cool as a cucumber but no ground given. He went onto play for New Zealand, Essex and became a legend at Nottinghamshire.

Andrew Rochford announces immediate retirement

Back-to-back Premiership winning captain Andrew Rochford has announced his immediate playing retirement.

He will also be stepping down from his role on the Board.

Andrew has been a colossus for the club since coming back to the playing field 5 years ago after an almost 20 year hiatus.

His leadership on the field has been second to none. He always drove his teams to be the best that they could be, resulting in M4s winning back-to-back titles for the first time in any grade in our clubs history.

He will be sorely missed.

Allen Turrell made his first grade debut for Cumberland, now Parramatta at the age of 18 in 1973. Guess who was at first slip when he took up his position behind the stumps?

All up Allen took 633 dismissals across the Grades at Parramatta, 340 in First Grade including 280 catches and 60 stumping’s.

What was your favourite stumping?

More memorable to me, I always enjoy (now, not at the time) reflecting on my favourite missed stumping’s, those of two Test captains, Bob Simpson and Mike Gatting, both off RA as well. No wonder I got so many death stares! They both got big hundreds to make it worse. I reckon I was too busy focusing on their brilliant batting than doing the only thing I had to do, watch the bloody ball!
