The Tahs presented this year's Ian Campbell Scholarship to Rocco Eastwood of the Hillgrove Colts Cricket Club in a well attended ceremony held at Cricket House, at the Armidale Showground.
The scholarship, named in honour of Life Member Ian Campbell (#212), for his outstanding contribution to the club in developing junior crcketers, is raised from donations by The Tahs 90 plus members.
Rocco, a strong middle order batsman and occasional wicketkeeper, was voted Hillgrove's "Most Likely To Succeed" after the 2025/26 season, won the award for "Performance of the Year", was Hillgrove's leading run getter in 2nd grade and also won the "Man of the Match" award in the Armidale & District Cricket Association's T20 Final. He was also a key member of Central North's unbeaten run in the 2025/26 Bradman Cup for U/16 cricketers.
During the ceremony, Rocco was presented with his award by Mrs Elizabeth Campbell, widow of Ian and in a moving part of the ceremony, James Campbell (#382), son of Ian, presented Rocco with his club cap #914 as Tahs members stood to attention wearing their own club caps.
