Penrith Cricket Club’s Brewer Shield of 2011-12: A debut season to remember

Penrith’s Brewer Shield team made a stunning entrance into the SCA Women’s Competition in their debut season, capping an undefeated campaign with two premiership shields and the prestigious Spirit of Cricket Award.
The team’s formation began in the off-season when a group of eight players and their parents met to discuss entering the competition. To gain entry, the club was required to meet several criteria, including a minimum squad of 15 with 75% of players new to grade cricket.
