The Colours of the Summer Cats - Penrith Cricket Club
For its first 17 seasons (1973-74 to 1989-90), Penrith Cricket Club’s colours were brown and white, following the Panthers Rugby League.
In 1991, the Panthers Rugby League team changed its colours, thus consigning to the dustbin of sporting history the term ‘Chocolate Soldiers’, a put-down used by inner city clubs. The Panthers would now wear jerseys of black, with green and red piping, and a splash of yellow, earning another nickname – the ‘Liquorice Allsorts’.
