A couple of "onlys"for Waratahs CC of Armidale happened on this day, 24th February.

The only tie in Waratahs history happened in 1990 when 2nd grade tied their match with old rivals Easts. The Daffies batted first, making 169, with a rearguard half century from Phil Webb holding them together. Waratahs man of letters, Bob Hughes and youngster Jeremy Roach were the pick of the bowlers. Wayne Lankester and Matt Foster took the ball from new to old, with an opening spell of 50 overs, and reduced Waratahs to 5-52 before the second half of the order fought back. Foster returned for a second spell and removed Rob de la Motte with his first ball to end the match in a tie.

In 1979, Syd Philp carried his bat for the second time in his Waratahs career, the only player to do the very rare feat twice. He made 35 not out of Waratahs first innings 93 and was still there on 51 in the second when time ran out for St Peters as they pushed for the outright.
