Armidale Waratahs (The Tahs) | April 09, 2026

Waratahs entered the semis as underdogs in 4th place, having to engage with the very strong University side but not without hope, having beaten them in a match of good batting only a few weeks earlier. However, their gun for the season, 19) as the only Waratahs batsman to score above fifty during the season. He had made a classy 129 against Uralla back in December.
Waratahs was a spin heavy side, with Eric Smith (#82) and John Roberts (#115) bagging 61 wickets between them. Terry Mackenzie (#54) was the only pace bowler who had made an impact.
University made a good score but were rescued early in the innings by McKillop and Yeates and then when Waratahs had fought back through Roberts to have them 6-125, Gill and Meyers scored runs that would prove to be Waratahs undoing.
Waratahs innings was reduced to a shambles by Duloy, who had 4 of the wickets in 6-21. Alan Gray (#26) tried to steer Waratahs back to some degree of dignity but it was the bowlers, Mackenzie, Roberts and Smith who at least made the University bowlers work for their victory, the three of them doubling Waratahs score.
Duloy ended with five and Waratahs season ended meekly.
