THE SEMIS - B Grade v Public Service 1961
Armidale Waratahs (The Tahs) | March 20, 2026

Waratahs, had a very successful season, winning 17 out of their 23 games (all games one day matches). The three McIntyres had strong seasons: Keith (#) 514 runs, Ray (#) 339 and John (#) 313 runs but remember they played more than twenty innings each. Skipper John also took a staggering 72 wickets. Col Marshall (#102) took fifty wickets and passed 100 for the club during his second season.
Waratahs problem was always going to be their persistent batting collapses and so it proved, with John McIntyre (pictured), who opened, the only player to make double figures.
Public Service lost only one wicket in passing Waratahs total and even though Skipper McIntyre led a rush of wickets, they batted out the afternoon for a comfortable win.
