Patrick Lamont – The Improver
Parramatta District Cricket Club | May 04, 2026

The Parramatta District Cricket Club have unearthed another fine young pace bowling prospect in the tall lithe right-arm swing bowler Patrick Lamont.
Pat started his NSW Premier Cricket connection with the Parramatta Club in the 2022/23 season and to date his bowling exploits have already yielded 109 wickets at a highly a worthy average of 18.71.
What has been notable about his cricket is that he has continued to improve and develop in each of his four seasons with the club. His team captains have praised his skill, ability to ‘move the ball around’, overall accuracy and knack of testing the patience of opposing batsmen.
After making a sound start to his career in two-blue colours in Fifth grade in 2022/23 he was elevated to Fourth grade and closed out his first venture into premier cricket with a pleasing 21 wickets @ 17.24 (best – 4/18).
The next season (2023/24) Pat gained more momentum by topping the Fourth grade wicket-takers, securing 29 wickets @ 17.66 – featuring a string of promising efforts such as 3/27 v. Blacktown, 4/37 v. Penrith and 4/22 v. Western Suburbs.
Much of his 2024/25 cricket was in Fourth grade but he got the opportunity to make some appearances in the premiership winning Third grade team during the season.
In Third grade he ‘grabbed his chance with both hands’ and in the process announced that he was worthy of future higher grade consideration.
He blew Blacktown away, grasping an outstanding 10/51 (5/19 and 5/32) and spearheading Parramatta to an outright victory. Then later in the season he ‘put the sword’ to Gordon with a haul of 5/26. His full season’s performance in both the above grades finished at 30 wickets @ 16.23.
The 2025/26 season proved to a seminal point in his Parramatta career, strong form in Third grade – 16 wickets @ 15.87 (best – 5/44 v. Sydney University, 3/22 v. Sutherland, 3/23 v. Wests, 3/25 v. Campbelltown) – placed him in a pole position for promotion to Second grade late in the season when injuries struck in top-grade bowling ranks.
Again, Patrick proved he was up to the task, handling the lift to Second grade with aplomb. He bowled excellently in the Qualifying Final against Northern District claiming 4/43 off 19.4 overs and backed that up with a competent performance in the Semi-Final against Manly. Manly batted a lengthy 120 overs to compile a total of 346 and Pat stuck to the task to claim 1/56 (20 overs), again proving to be an accurate and frugal trundler.
The upcoming 2026/27 season will hopefully see – ‘The Improver keep on Improving.’
Career Stats to 2025/26.
