All the North Sydney Bears' Bevyn White Cricketers of the Year

UTS North Sydney District Cricket Club | June 08, 2026

This season, the UTS North Sydney Bears instituted a perpetual trophy for the Bevyn White Cricketer of the Year, engraved with the names of all winners since it became named after Bevyn, who was Club President for 25 years from 1990 to 2015.

Fittingly, Bevyn was at the club’s Presentation Night to present the trophy to Justin Avendano, who won the award for the second time. Bevyn regaled the audience with memories of Justin as a young player before he joined the Bears, having identified his talent while he was playing for Gordon.

Justin had a superb season on his return to the Bears, scoring 903 runs at an average of 47.53, including four hundreds, three of which came in an extraordinary run of four matches at the end of the season. He also took 10 catches with bucket hands in the slip cordon.

Previous winners of the coveted award are:

2024/25 – Bella Johnson. 581 runs @ 48.42, HS 107*; 22 wickets @ 13.86, BB 5/12, Premiership-winning Second Grade captain.

2023/24 – Mac Jenkins. 690 runs @ 33.86, HS 68, 6 x 50, 25 wickets @ 28.72, BB 4/4.
