As the dust settles on the 2025/26 Women’s Premier Cricket season, we’d like to take a moment to spotlight our standout performers who really made their mark.
Overall, our 3rd Grade side delivered consistently strong team performances to secure their spot in the semi final. While they went down narrowly to Manly in the semis, they finished 3rd on the table for the season.The teams top performers with the bat were Anu Raj Vinay with 305 runs at an average of 23.46, and Kellyn Coetzee with 279 runs at an average of 31. With the ball, Maya McNeil took 12 wickets, averaging at 23.86, and Evy McKay took 9 averaging at 22.89. The whole team improved massively throughout the season. Young players gained confidence and experience, and began to flourish in the final rounds. The more experienced players provided wisdom and steadiness to balance out what became a very well-rounded and flexible team with bat and ball.
After winning the competition for the last two years, our 2nd Grade side welcomed new and young players into the squad. Similarly our Brewer team saw plenty of rotation and many girls playing across both teams to build skills and game-awareness as the club looks to strengthen our Women’s contingent into future seasons. The top performers across the two competitions demonstrated consistent growth and patience.
Sharon Julien provided steady runs and wickets in 2nds and Brewers, with 464 runs, averaging at 25.78, and 26 wickets, averaging at 16.77. This makes Sharon the top women’s scorer for the bears this season, and the second highest wicket taker.
Zahra Dhillon grew through the Brewer Shield season, taking 29 wickets in total at 11.69. Her outstanding performances week after week, saw her take out the top bowling spot, not only at the bears, but also in the entire Brewer Shield competition.
Bernie Robson began the season in 3rd grade and swiftly secured her spot in the starting line up for 2nd Grade. She amassed 379 runs at an average of 37.90 and was a constant source of patience at the crease, supporting her team in learning to read the game and react accordingly. In her first season as captain of 2nd Grade, Kayla Robson stepped up to the plate to deliver 291 runs at an average of 22.38. Both Bernie and Kayla made the top 10 batters across the 2nd Grade competition.
Varada Vinay was strong with the bat and ball in 2nd Grade, making 266 runs at 19.00, and taking 20 wickets at 17.70.
Our international contingent impressed throughout the duration of the season. Anna Buckle delivered 22 wickets at an average of 16.32, while stepping into the 2nd Grade Vice Captaincy role. Her leadership was central to the growth of a young 2nd grade side, as she put on show her experience and talent. Georgia Demetriou played across Brewers and 2nd grade totalling 193 runs at an average of 24.13 in less than half the season! Grace Weatherall followed closely behind with 190 runs at 19.00 in her half a season.
