Manly Warringah 1969-70 3rd Grade Premiers

Manly Warringah District Cricket Club | July 08, 2026

Under the leadership of captain Keith Fitzpatrick, the side produced a strong and disciplined season, culminating in a hard-fought grand final appearance against Sutherland at Manly Oval.

The decider began with Manly taking first use of the wicket, compiling a competitive total of 267 on the opening day. However, any opportunity for a result was ultimately denied, as persistent rain washed out play on the Sunday, leaving the match without a definitive conclusion.

Across the season, Kevin Davidson proved to be the standout performer with the bat. His consistency and ability to build innings saw him claim both the batting average and aggregate, marking him as the team’s most reliable run-scorer. Davidson’s contributions extended beyond batting, as he also excelled with the ball, finishing the season with the best bowling average—an impressive feat that highlighted his all-round capabilities.

Supporting the bowling attack, John Hunt delivered a strong campaign, leading the side in wickets with an aggregate of 29. His efforts ensured the team maintained pressure on opposition sides throughout the season.

Overall, it was a campaign defined by resilience, strong individual performances, and an unfortunate grand final curtailed by weather, preventing what promised to be a compelling finish.
