The 2005/06 season stands as one of the most dominant campaigns in Manly’s history, with the club claiming the Club Championship in emphatic fashion. Amassing a record number of points at the time, Manly’s depth and consistency across grades proved unmatched, cementing their status as the competition’s benchmark.

Success was evident throughout multiple teams. Both First and Third Grade sides finished the regular season as minor premiers, showcasing their superiority week in and week out, while Second Grade also delivered a strong performance to secure second place on the ladder. Fourth Grade remained competitive throughout the season and narrowly missed a deeper finals run, while Fifth Grade endured a more challenging year.

Despite the club’s overall dominance, it was only the First Grade side that progressed to a grand final. Playing at Manly Oval, they faced Fairfield Liverpool in a hard-fought contest but ultimately fell short of securing the premiership.

The season was guided by Club Coach Craig Glassock, with Mick Pawley serving as Director of Coaching. Leadership on the field was equally strong across all grades. Shawn Bradstreet captained the First Grade side, while Craig Glassock also took on captaincy duties in Second Grade. John Warn led Third Grade, Andrew Kemiss captained Fourth Grade, and Pete Jacka guided the Fifth Grade team.

Although the ultimate prize eluded First Grade, the 2005/06 season remains a landmark year for Manly, defined by exceptional performances across the club and a record-breaking club championship triumph.
