Jamie Heath: A Career Built on Consistency and Class

Manly Warringah District Cricket Club | February 28, 2026

From dominant seasons in Sydney grade cricket to representing his state and continuing his love of the game back home, Jamie Heath’s cricket journey is one defined by commitment, performance, and longevity.

Heath made his mark between 1996 and 2004 with Manly Warringah District Cricket Club, where he established himself as one of the competition’s most reliable and dangerous bowlers. During that period, he claimed an outstanding 300 wickets at an average of just 18 — a remarkable achievement that underlines both his skill and consistency with the ball. His impact did not go unnoticed, contributing heavily to multiple club championship victories and cementing his place as one of Manly’s standout performers of the era.

One of the highlights of his time at the club came in the 2000/01 season, when he was part of Manly’s victorious limited-overs premiership side. The triumph added silverware to an already impressive résumé and reflected his ability to perform when it mattered most.

Heath’s performances at grade level opened the door to the professional arena. He went on to play six first-class matches for New South Wales cricket team, competing at the highest domestic level in Australia. Facing elite opposition, Heath demonstrated that his success in club cricket could translate to the state stage.

His cricket journey also included time in Western Australia, where he played for Fremantle District Cricket Club. The move broadened his experience and added another respected club to his career portfolio.

Now back home in Newcastle, Heath continues to contribute to the game with Belmont Cricket Club. His return to local cricket reflects not only his enduring passion for the sport but also his desire to give back to the regional cricket community that helped shape him.

From 300 wickets at Manly to first-class representation and a lasting presence in Newcastle cricket, Jamie Heath’s career stands as a testament to sustained excellence and a deep love for the game.
