Manly Cricket - The St Pius Crew

Although St Pius X College is situated in the heart of Chatswood, just a short walk from Chatswood Oval and close to Gordon District Cricket Club, few could have predicted the influence four of its students would later have at Manly Warringah District Cricket Club.

Emerging in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Cameron Merchant, Luke Cameron, and brothers Shane and Mitch Cleary each went on to enjoy distinguished careers, leaving a lasting legacy at the club.

Cameron Merchant

• 1st Grade Limited-Overs Premiership (2005/06)

• 1st Grade Two-Day Premiership (2014/15)

• 2nd Grade Premiership (2022/23)

• Multiple Club Championships

• 8,142 runs (as at the conclusion of the 2024/25 season)

Luke Cameron

• 3rd Grade Premiership (2004/05)

• Multiple Club Championships

• 3,236 runs, including three centuries 

Shane Cleary

• 1st Grade Limited-Overs Premiership (2005/06)

• Multiple Club Championships

• 1,958 runs, including one century

• 313 wickets at an average of 24

Mitch Cleary

• 1st Grade T20 Premiership (2009/10), including an unbeaten 50 in the Grand Final

• Multiple Club Championships

• 3,757 runs, including four centuries

• 93 wickets
