Chelsea McLerie announces herself in First Grade Cricket

Chelsea McLerie has firmly established herself as a force in first-grade cricket, following a steady and impressive rise through the ranks at Manly.
Having progressed through the female cricket pathway at the club, Chelsea made her debut for the Brewers in the 2017/18 season, appearing in a single match. Over the next few seasons, she rotated between the Brewers, Thirds, and Seconds, steadily honing her skills and gaining valuable experience.
Her breakout season came in 2021/22, when Chelsea truly announced herself in first grade. She claimed 10 wickets at an exceptional average of 14, highlighted by a remarkable performance of 6/24 against St George Sutherland at Manly Oval—a display of skill and composure that signaled her arrival as a top-tier bowler.
Chelsea’s growth continued in the following seasons, culminating in her becoming the highest wicket-taker in the competition during the 2024/25 season with 29 wickets at an average of 14. By the end of that season, she had amassed an impressive 84 career wickets for the club at an average of 19, a testament to her consistency and dedication.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions and the respect she commands within the club, Chelsea has been appointed captain of the first-grade side for the 2025/26 season—a well-deserved honor and a reflection of her leadership on and off the field.
