Matthew Phelps Runs Record
Manly Warringah District Cricket Club | October 09, 2025

In the 1999/2000 season, Matthew Phelps set a new benchmark in Manly first-grade cricket history by scoring an unbeaten 233 - the highest individual score ever recorded at that level for the club.
The innings took place at Manly Oval during an early-season match against local rivals North Sydney, who were captained at the time by former Waratahs legend and future Manly coach, Phil Marks.
Phelps' record-breaking performance surpassed the previous mark of 227, set by Michael Bevan just two seasons earlier.
While double centuries have since been recorded by players such as Crosthwaite, Cruickshank, Lenton, and Davis, Phelps’ formidable 233 remains the highest individual score in Manly first-grade history.
