What year were you born?

2007

Tell us about your cricket journey.

I started playing junior cricket at Glenbrook-Blaxland Cricket Club in U8s, and I played for Penrith Junior Cricket Club throughout junior reps. I have played for Penrith Cricket Club in senior cricket ever since, for five seasons now. I’ve also played for Sydney West in primary school and high school cricket over the years.

If you can share with our readers how you would describe yourself as a cricketer?

I’m a batter-keeper.

What do you enjoy most about playing cricket?

I enjoy the competition and the opportunity to challenge yourself out in the middle to achieve your personal best and a result for your team. I also love the social aspect of it as I love seeing my friends every week at training and at games and getting to spend hours on the field with a great group of girls.

What’s been your most memorable moment in cricket so far?

It’s hard to say, but a few of my favourite moments are:

• winning the Combined High Schools tournament with Sydney West in 2023
• winning the Brewer shield semi-final with Penrith (v Sydney) in March 2022
• scoring a century for Penrith at our home ground of Howell Oval this season.

Who is the best spinner you’ve played against?

Sam Bates

Who is the best spinner you’ve kept wicket to?

At Penrith, it would be Beth Lane and Aimee Ravot. In other teams, it would be Lakshmi Rajadurai.

What’s been your favourite dismissal as a wicket keeper so far. The dismissal that makes you smile when you reflect.

I always like taking stumpings off Tash Martin’s bowling.

Who played the best innings you’ve seen firsthand playing with or against?

I didn’t actually play in this game, but I was at Cricket Central the day Penrith won the First Grade Premiership in 2023, so it would be Phoebe Litchfield’s knock for Penrith in that game.

Who are the two players you’ve come to admire most in your club in terms of skills and competitive spirit?

Isabella Bradley-Labra – her bowling is so skilful, and she steps up in tough situations and bowls incredibly well. Karly Woods – her attitude towards the game, competitiveness and skill in the field are really admirable and uplift whichever team she’s playing in.

What are the two attributes you like to see in a captain and leader?

Communication, composure, resilience

Which singer/band would you like to see perform live?

The 1975

Who’s the king of selfies at your club?

Probably Izzy and Tash!

Favourite location, city or country as a holiday destination?

I would love to go to New York City, the UK, the Amalfi Coast or the Rocky Mountains.

Who’s been the biggest influence on your career so far?

My dad – he has spent so many hours at the nets throwing balls at me to help me with batting. Many coaches over the years have helped me develop my batting and keeping, including Michael Wholohan, Hannah Trethewy, and all the coaches at Penrith.

Where do you find inspiration that gets you through challenging times?

I don’t know – I just get through, because what else are you going to do?

Who are the three people in the world you’d love to meet and talk to?

Greta Thunberg, Malala Yousafzai and Kermit the Frog

What do you like to do to relax outside cricket?

Watch movies and shows, spend time with friends, do puzzles, read and listen to music.

What do you do outside of cricket?

I’m starting International Studies at USyd this year. And I work on the checkouts at my local IGA.

Do you have a favourite quote?

Life goes on.

What are your goals for the next season?

Win the Premiership, and score a First Grade century.

Can we ask, what would it mean to you to play first class cricket?

It would be an incredible opportunity and experience and would mean a lot as the players who play at that level are hard-working, dedicated and skilled.
