Who are Gordon DCC Best All-Rounders?

Gordon District Cricket Club | July 30, 2026

The Stags keep records of players who score more than 3,000 runs or claim more than 200 wickets in first grade. 23 batsmen and 18 bowlers have reached these milestones. Only 3 players appear in both lists – Charlie McCartney, Charles Kelleway and Kurt Morrison.

Charlie Macartney was an Australian Test legend nicknamed "The Governor-General" for his aggressive, authoritative style. A World War I veteran and Australian Cricket Hall of Famer, he was an explosive middle-order batsman and left-arm orthodox spinner who famously scored a Test century before lunch and holds a career First-Class average above 45.

Charles Kelleway was a dependable Australian Test all-rounder from the 1910s and 1920s. A stubborn, highly resilient right-hand batsman and medium-pace bowler, Kelleway played 26 Tests for Australia and was renowned as one of the most rock-solid top-order anchors of his era.

Kurt Morrison was a long-serving club icon and First Grade stalwart for Gordon District Cricket Club, providing more than a decade of steady middle-order batting and workhorse bowling for the Stags.
