Gordon DCC Fourth Grade Record Highest Score Broken

Gordon District Cricket Club | October 29, 2025

On Saturday, October 25 Aaditya Pankajdavey resumed his innings at Killara Park, having volunteered as night watchman the week before. Solid bowling performances in Metropolitan Cup last season and 5th grade for Rounds 1 & 2 this season saw him promoted to 4th grade, but his record with the bat in the lower grades was quite unremarkable. Pankajdavey batted and batted and batted, leading his team to victory and scoring a double century. The feat had club historian Paul Stephenson reaching for the record books to discover that he had broken the club record for the highest score in 4th grade, held by current member of the GDCC executive Glenn Tullia.

Highest Scores in 4th Grade for Gordon:

  • 201 not out Aaditya Pankajdavey 2025-26
  • 172 not out Glenn Tullia 1991-92
  • 172 Jim Bendon 1962-63
  • 169 Darryl Quigley 1976-77

GT remarked “I didn’t even know I held the record. My score was in Round 1 vs Mosman. We had already won the game and there were 8 overs left in the game. They asked if I wanted to go on for a chance to score 200 or call the game off. I called the game off. The Mosman players would have killed me if I continued.”

In a surprising turn of events, former test fast bowler Jason Gillespie is yet to publicly comment on the achievement.

It is hoped that Lord Ian Botham won’t pull out of the upcoming Gordon Luncheon, held on Thursday, November 13, upon discovering that the event organiser no longer holds the record for highest score in fourth grade for the Stags.
