Norm O’Neill’s innings of 168 was made in 197 minutes with 27 fours and 1 six. It remained the club record score until 7 January, 1984 when Phil Weatherall scored 173 n.o. vs North Sydney in 3rd Grade. It remained the 1st Grade record score until 9 October, 1999 when Matthew Bradley scored 212 n.o. vs Hawkesbury.

Round 9, 3rd Grade 1983-84 – 7 January 1984 (Team report by Ken Lamb)

As far as individual performances are concerned, definitely the most outstanding achievement was Phil Weatherall’s club record score of 173no against North Sydney. With the right attitude and application, Phil has the ability and talent to go a long way. He batted for 328 minutes, hitting 17 fours and 1 six.

Round 2, 4th Grade 1984-85 – 13 October 1984 (Team report by Tom Iceton)

Before finishing this report, I am going to depart from tradition and write about the captain. Comments about captains are often written at the end of their reports by the editor – therefore, as the editor, I feel I must record some details of the match against Parramatta for the sake of posterity. The captain went out to bat at 3/83 with a previous highest score in grade cricket of 69. He left the field 243 runs later, the score now 5/326. The following club records were established:

   – the captain’s score was the highest ever for the club – 179 runs, in 137 minutes, off 104 balls, with 29 fours and 7 sixes (the last 140 runs coming off only 60 balls)

   – record fourth grade score of 6/366 off 67 overs

   – record fourth wicket partnership of 151 with Rod Davison, in 90 minutes

Round 5, 4th Grade 1992-93 – 14 November 1992 (Team report by Mick Jones)

Another game interrupted by rain, but not before a sensational innings by Tim Brennan, who scored 201 not out (282 minutes, 21 fours) to break the club record. It was good to see the previous record holder, Tom Iceton, the first to congratulate Tim on this marvellous performance. Gavin Kenny supported Tim very well for an aggressive 87 – together they broke another club record, with a 5th wicket partnership of 234. Sutherland declared at 6/365 and when rain interrupted play, Campbelltown were 3/117 – match drawn.

Round 7, 2nd Grade 1997-98 – 13 December 1997 (Team report by Martin Carroll)

Next round, we played our favourite club Bankstown and the lads were ready, in particular one very focussed young batsman, Philip Jaques. Philip started his dig in normal fashion, hitting four boundaries in his first 20, then to 50 and upwards. Phil looked set for a big one (or should I say a big two), bringing up his hundred with yet another boundary. Didn’t stop there, Jaques racing to 150 – but wait, there’s more! Yes, Phil kept punishing the Dogs throughout the afternoon, climaxing with a record score of 208 for the Club. He batted for 280 minutes, hitting 23 fours and 6 sixes.

Round 3, 1st Grade 1999-00 – 9 October 1999 (Team report by Jason Young)

Congratulations to Matt Bradley on breaking Norm O’Neill’s record for the highest score for the Club in First Grade – 212 not out is now the new record that has been set. He batted for 371 minutes, hitting 13 fours and 6 sixes.

Round 12, 1st Grade 2006-07 – 3 February 2007 (Team report by Matthew O’Brien)

This will go down as one of the most memorable games ever. We failed by one wicket to beat North Sydney outright. Memorable moment – Every player will cherish they saw Jaquesy amass 321!! Only the players that day can truly describe how good this innings was. Firstly, we were sent in! The wicket had plenty in it early and it was very tough batting in the first session. We had no idea what was to unfold later in the day. By the end he was hitting it anywhere he liked no matter where it was pitched. It was a great privilege to have witnessed it up close and share your joy Phil! How amazingly close you came to the record …!

He batted for 379 minutes, hitting 31 fours and 12 sixes.
