Kingsley Osborne's cricketing career began in the Shires in the 1937-38 season when he played as a stylish and consistent batsman and a reliable off spin bowler.

After the interruption of war service he returned with the challenge of playing higher level cricket. His contribution to the Club, whether in the field or on the administrative side, have always been unstintingly and with loyalty and efficiency.

He was captain of the Second Grade for several seasons and set a splendid example to all his players, not only by his excellent batting performances, but by his own high sporting standards.

As a first grade cricketer he made his debut in the season of 1946-47 and finished with 582 runs all up from 28 innings at 22.38 with a highest score of 65. His 2nd grade stats are impressive with 3599 runs and a top score of 132 in the season of 49-50. He scored 3 centuries in 2nd Grade. All up for St George between 1st and 3rd Grade he scored 5256 runs at 23.46 and took 23 wickets.

In 1949 he joined the Management Committee a position he held for over 30 years. At the end of the 1956/1957 season he was appointed Club Treasurer a role he undertook with great diligence for the next 23 seasons. Additionally he also served as a provisional selector and on a number of sub committees. He was regarded as a shrewd administrator with the ability to secure the best results from often limited finances. Being known for his wise counsel his opinions were often sought and he was awarded Life Membership in 1970 (Life Member No.19).
