Steve Beaton Awarded Life Membership of Cricket NSW Masters

It is with pleasure that NSW Masters Cricket announce the award of Life Membership to current Over 70’s Treasurer & Chair of selectors for the Over 65’s Steve Beaton. Steve has served in the administration of NSW Masters Cricket for 10 plus years and occupied many positions in that time particularly as Secretary of NSW for many years, Over 65’s coordinator for a few years, current Chair of selectors for the Over 65’s, and current Treasurer for the Over70’s. Steve is also a well-known player having played for Tamworth Vets and currently Quirindi Vets and represented NSW at National Championships for many years. He is also an accredited NSW umpire.

The NSW Board approved Steve’s award at the AGM held late 2025 and it has only now been an opportune time to present that to him. At the recent Over 70’s State Championships held at Lismore/Ballina, the award was presented to him at the Championship dinner by Douglas Latto current NSW Board Administrator after some kind words from David Head Over 70’s Secretary and long-time friend and player.

NSW has now recognised 5 members as Life Members; Steve joins Kevin Finlay 2021, John Fryer and Kevin Pike 2023, and Chas Viner 2024. What an elite group!

Congratulations go to Steve on receiving this award for his continued support and involvement in administration of NSW Masters Cricket.
